Lokmanya Tilak Express which is a Mumbai Bhubaneswar bound train derailed today at about 7 am. The train accident happened near Nergundi railway station in Odisha’s Cuttack.
The Lokmanya Tilak Express accident happened when the passenger train hit a goods train due to heavy fog and 8 coaches are derailed. As per the initial reports about 20 people are hurt and no casualties. The early response medical teams are at the accident site and are being shifted to the nearby hospitals. Seriously injured people are being shifted to the Cuttack Medical College for better treatment.
The authorities have arranged buses to transport remaining train passengers. The other trains like Dhanbad Bhubaneswar Rajya Rani Express, Puri Rourkela Express, Talcher Puri Express, Puri Durg Express and Bhubaneswar Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Express which travel through this route are diverted till the damaged coaches are removed and the tracks are repaired.
