How To Withdraw Cash From ATM Using UPI Apps Without A Card

Even if you don’t have an ATM card, you can withdraw cash from the ATM. Cash withdrawal is possible through Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW) feature enables cash withdrawals from ATMs even without a card.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also advised banks to promote ICCW. ICCW wants to put option in ATMs to prevent cyber frauds like cloning, skimming etc. All the major banks like HDFC, SBI, and PNB Bank have already made the cardless cash withdrawal facility available in their ATMs.

With this, you can now withdraw cash using the popular UPI services like GooglePay, PhonePay, Paytm and any other UPI payment service apps. But the maximum limit to withdrawal is Rs.5,000 only. In near future RBI might allow to increase this limit.

Banks do not charge customers any additional charges for cardless cash withdrawals from ATMs through UPI. However, if cash withdrawals are made beyond the limit from ATMs of different banks, the same charges will be applicable as for the card transactions.
